When two stars release their films on the same day and are regarded as rivals, fans organize like an army to show their love and support by putting up banners and cutouts and competing for the best screens for their hero movie. However, when things get out of hand, fans' rage hits the theater, causing damage to their properties. Theater owners, on the other hand, are under pressure to placate both hero fans and moviegoers by allocating screens and tickets as smoothly as possible.
The same thing happened today in Rohini Theatre, Chennai's hot spot for big movies, where Vijay's "Varisu" and Ajith's "Thunivu" were released. Vijay fans and Ajith fans clashed fiercely, tearing and removing the heroes' banners, and the police had to lathi-charge the fans to control the situation.
We tried to get in touch with the owner of Rohini Theatre, Nikilesh Surya, to find out what was going on there following the police's shoddy treatment of fans. However, he was not available to take our call. Our sources at the theaters, on the other hand, say that Vijay and Ajith's fans are being placated to keep the peace and allow the previous shows to go off without a hitch. Another tragic incident occurred in close proximity to Rohini Theatre. Ajith fan died after jumping from a slow-moving truck while dancing in excitement. Police have opened a case and are looking into the specifics. This incident raises concerns about the safety of moviegoers attending 4 a.m. screenings of major motion pictures and is unquestionably a red flag for theaters that offer FDFS.
In contrast to the previous generation, the majority of Tamil Nadu theater owners and distributors typically do not welcome two big-name films released on the same day. This is because it is difficult to manage and control fans when something goes wrong, and fans immediately damage the properties of the theaters, resulting in losses for the theaters and an increase in the risk to the public's safety when they gather during the FDFS of big-name films.
