The film marks Vamshi Paidipally's first collaboration with Vijay, who is also making his Telugu debut with this project. The film is directed by Vamshi Paidipally.

The film's entire plot is pretty much revealed in the trailer. It tells the story of Vijay and his two older brothers' large, extended family. As the patriarch, Sarath Kumar is in charge of the business empire. When a business rival decides to play dirty, the family is the target, and Vijay is left to keep the family together no matter what.

Along with Ajith's Thunivu, Varisu will be the first major Tamil film released this year. The two films are getting ready for a huge fight at the box office. Dil Raju, the producer of Varisu, recently said that in Tamil Nadu, Vijay is bigger than Ajith.

Varisu producer Dil Raju discussed the conflict with Thunivu in an interview with the Telugu television station NTV. He stated that Vijay is a greater Tamil Nadu star than Ajith when discussing the conflict. As a result, Varisu, his film, ought to be shown more frequently than Thunivu.

Dil Raju said in the video: My film will be released in Tamil Nadu alongside Ajith sir. It is common knowledge that Vijay sir is Tamil Nadu's most popular celebrity. There are 800 screens in the state. There are currently roughly equal numbers of screens showing both films. Because Vijay sir is a bigger star than Ajith, I'm begging for at least 50 more screens for my movie.
